Film: Everything, Everywhere All At Once
Directed By: The Daniels
Release: 2022
Where to Watch: Paramount +
Today on the blog we are talking about Everything, Everywhere All At Once (EEAO) with Matt Groove! I actually only met Matt a little over a month ago and I am so excited to have him join us today! Matt is a 2nd generation Filipino-American dancer, stunt performer, and actor who enjoys collecting and selling action figures and toys.
EEAO made history for being the most awarded film of all time. It won 7 of its 11 Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh (the first woman of Asian descent and only the second woman of color to take home the award) and Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan (the second man of Asian descent to win this category). Rounding out the almost all-Asian cast is Stephanie Hsu, James Hong, and Harry Shum Jr. To those who may think this film is overrated, I implore you to give it watch and to keep in mind some of the themes the movie is including. It's more than googly eyes and talking rocks, hot dog fingers and bagels. Behind all of the craziness that this movie brings is a story of connection, family, and why things do matter.
Join Matt and me as we discuss feeling represented on screen, the other "variant" lives our families had to live, and what unique qualities make us great in today's interview!
